Ayda Bahrami Motlagh
Ayda is an Iranian-Canadian emerging artist based in Toronto. With an academic background in Civil Engineering (BEng, Ryerson University) and a Master of Engineering from the University of Waterloo, she transitioned into a full-time art practice in 2019.
Working primarily with watercolor, and occasionally oil, her work explores atmosphere, emotion, and quiet intensity through subtle gestures and layered surfaces. What began as a hobby during her graduate studies evolved into a committed artistic journey when her talent was recognized and encouraged by her instructors. Her practice today reflects a balance between discipline and intuition, rooted in careful observation and personal vision.
