Bint El Fenn
Bint el Fenn is a self-taught Lebanese-Canadian artist based in Ottawa. Her work is deeply inspired by her heritage and a strong commitment to social justice. Through her art, she explores themes of resilience, an identity. She frequently incorporates Levantine symbolism to portray strength, hope, and the enduring spirit of her people. Immersing herself in the creative process has helped her gain a deeper understanding of her identity. Her art bridges her Canadian upbringing with her Lebanese roots, honouring her ancestors and contributing to the ongoing struggle for justice around the world. It is her core as an artist to reinforce the value of the lives of those facing injustice, genocide, and loss, and to confront the forces that seek to erase or diminish them.
