Debra Wronzberg

Visual Art

Debra is an award-winning artist having recently won the Emerging Artist Award from the Artist Network Riverwalk Art Show.  Her unique, signature style is paintings that marry semi-abstracts with mosaics.

Debra maps out her compositions using painters tape then paints them, the magic unfolds during the pealing off process which reveals the mosaic details. Inspired by the Japanese art form of Kintsugi, the repairing of broken pottery using liquid gold as glue, it is also a metaphor for life that says ‘what is broken can be repaired and become stronger than it was before,’ a sentiment that deeply resonates with her.  Debra describes her approach to art as a journey of transformation, one that echoes the struggles and triumphs of nature itself, akin to Cézanne’s pursuit of molding nature through geometric form, capturing the essence of Kintsugi in her process.
