Doug Knight
In 1994, Doug was diagnosed with a Hypothalamic Low-grade Glioma (brain tumour). The damage left him with a visual range of 8/400, classifying him as legally blind. Though his dreams of becoming a fighter-pilot were put on hold, he was gifted the power of the mighty PENCIL!
Doug pursued excellence in the visual arts and a career in the tattoo industry. He later created his indie-comic publication, Cross Eye Comics.
Let’s pause here, folks, and set aside the tiny violins—this is an epic adventure, not a sad tale! Doug has worked with incredible people in tattoo and fine art communities, married his best friend, and is a proud father of two sweet little troublemakers.
2024 marked an exciting year of artistic growth, with a Project Circulation Grant from the Ontario Arts Council and a two-week residency on Toronto Island. Doug has toured his comics and art internationally, with exciting plans for 2025.
