Evan Michael Rees
My name's Evan Rees, and I am a self-taught, mixed media designer and sculptor based in downtown Toronto.If I could pinpoint one main inspiration for myself as an artist, it would be to find beauty in daily materials, nature, and inocuous parts of daily life, and translate my imagination onto the canvas to make an immersive, eye-catching piece.However, similar to my work, my goal and ambition as an artist has many layers. Emotions, memories, and the desire to expand my skillset and try new things are what keep me growing as an artist and striving to make pieces that viewers are captivated by.I use a variety of mixed media, including clay, epoxy resin, spray paint, gold leaf, acrylic paint, and wire to create canvas based mixed media sculptures based on Greek Mythology, Nature, and emotion.
