What Your Support Makes Possible
Wendy Liu is a multi-media and medium artist from Toronto, Canada that explores physical and digital art in cohesion with music under lenses of psychology and human behaviour. Graduated with a Bachelor’s in Arts from the University of Waterloo with a major in Psychology, they take many aspects from their professional work previously as a therapist to dive into the human reactions and behaviours that are experienced when subject to various forms of colour, light, sound, perspective shifts and emotional states. This includes both the after effect of when the “art pieces” have been completed, but also explores the “before”. The mental state of the artist as various phases of life and emotional turmoil spilt onto the physical, digital or auditory canvas. Mental illness having been prominent, Liu’s works are a combination of emotional exploration and restoration from a life of complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
