Jamie MacLean Fine Art
After more than 30 years in engineering and plant management, Jamie was ready for a change.
A seminar on consulting planted the seed“Are you doing this because you want to, or because you’ve been doing this?” and “If not now, when?” During an out of town project Jamie reconnected with an earlier passion—painting. Painting in the evenings became the norm and by the project’s end 2005 became his“Freedom 55.”
Working in oils, Jamie prefers the scale of larger canvases, painting in the studio using personal photos and memories. Bold palette knife work and colour create the texture, contrast, movement, energy and emotions that bring his work alive. A collector once described this style as “Emotive Realism,” a term that perfectly describes the way their work connects on a personal and emotional level.
Since that start he has participated in 200 shows and his work is represented at 4 galleries
