Lera Bersenova
I was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, a region that has been occupied by russia since the full-scale invasion in 2022. Painting has become an integral part of my daily life, helping me cope with personal struggles such as the loss of my mother, my father’s service in the military, and the challenges of mental health. However, my art isn’t only about hardship- I also love drawing my dogs, my hedgehog, and my husband, capturing the joy and beauty of everyday life. What drives my work is the hope that someone sees a piece and feels understood, comforted, or less alone. I want my art to echo the emotional landscapes we all move through.
