Malik the Artist
Malik Holligan-Lewis is a Toronto-based painter and illustrator whose contemporary figurative works celebrate beauty, emotion, and the power of human presence. Drawing inspiration from Alphonse Mucha and J.C. Leyendecker, he blends classical illustration with expressive color, painterly mark-making, and a modern perspective on portraiture. Working primarily in acrylic, Malik creates luminous figures that exist between observation and appreciation, using light, form, and symbolism to tell stories that honor individuality and diverse representation.
