Matt Ficner
Matt Ficner (The Unusualist) is a self-taught puppeteer, sculptor, illustrator, animator and prop and toy maker who has been creating for over 35 years, bringing everything to life from robot figurines and life-size creatures for television shows to quirky animated characters.
Matt is skilled in countless fabricating and manufacturing techniques, and he uses those skills to create whimsical sculptures and artworks. Matt seldom refers to himself as an artist but rather likes to call himself an “Unusualist,” as he often creates and uses materials that are “out of the ordinary” to make something “unique.”
