My Name is Marcin Nikiforuk. I've been a visual artist most of my life. I have 20 years of visual effects experience in Film and television working as a back ground digital matte painter and concept artist. I have recently put my matte painting career to rest as a strong urge emerged to be a full time professional solo artist. My main focus is creating what I call "industrial abstract" and use various shapes to illustrate my abstract forms. I work in mixed media. My paintings could be somewhat categorized as mix media relief. I sketch my shapes first, refine my designs and shapes in Adobe illustrator, after which I cut them out using various routers and laser cutters. I work with plaster, oil and acrylic paint, resin, metal and plexi glass to mix into my creations. I work in various sizes from 8 x 8" to 5 x 5' and plan to work even bigger in the future.
