Noctiluca Zara art is exclusively in black and white. In a world where we constantly navigate shades of grey, the stark contrast of black and white provides clarity and whimsy.
Noctiluca means the night at light, and Zara is the evening star in Arabic. Noctiluca Zara art shows a world at night, illuminated by moon and star light, and the shine and sparkle of a dark sea.
The artist, Zara Ram, is a third culture adult. She is influenced by a wide range of artistic movements and styles spanning the many cultures she has been exposed to since childhood.
Noctiluca Zara art is inspired by nature, drawing heavily from places close to the artist’s heart: the foothills of the Himalayas, where her family’s ancestral home is, the dramatic landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman, and the underwater world of the Arabian Sea.
