Noctiluca Zara
Noctiluca Zara art is almost exclusively in black and white. In a world where we constantly navigate shades of grey, the stark contrast of black and white provides clarity and whimsy.
'Noctiluca' means light in darkness, and 'Zara' is 'the evening star' in Arabic. Noctiluca Zara art shows a world at night, illuminated by moon and star light, and the shine and sparkle of a dark sea.
The artist, Zara Ram, draws inspiration from nature, drawing heavily from places close to the artist’s heart: the foothills of the Himalayas, where her family’s ancestral home is, the dramatic landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman, and the underwater world of the Arabian Sea.
The exhibition at ATMOS, will feature her work based on folklore and magic.
