RT Atelier Co
I am a Canadian-Bangladeshi multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and eco designer based in Toronto, and found of RT Atelier Co, an interdisciplinary art and sustainable textile practice. I graduated from OCAD University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography in 2019, where my early work explored hybrid photography, wearable forms, and spatial storytelling of upcycled umbrellas transformed into a shelter wear.My practice combines photography, textile, performance art, installation, and fashion based art to portray memory, sustainability, cultural identity, and the relationship between the body and space. A significant focus of my work is the revival and contemporary reinterpretation of handwoven Dhaka muslin and other South Asian textile practices. Through RT Atelier Co, I create wearable artworks using organic cotton, natural dyes, recycled materials, and handwoven fabrics produced through sustainable processes.
