Sami Shahin Art
Sami Shahin is a queer, multi-disciplinary artist of Palestinian and Syrian heritage working across illustration, animation, and design. Rooted in Levantine history and Palestinian liberation, his work weaves his queer identity with a commitment to SWANA representation. Trained at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts and Emily Carr University, Sami creates vibrant, emotionally resonant work across children’s books, protest art, marketing, and graphic design. In 2025, he presented his first solo exhibition, Symbols of Palestine, at 312 Main, marking a significant milestone in his artistic practice. His art—featured at the 2024 Vine Arts Festival and through Saint Levant’s 2048 Foundation, and shared globally via Flyers for Falastin—explores themes of resistance, memory, and identity, preserving Palestinian voices through powerful visual storytelling.
