Sanmeet Kaur
I am a multi-disciplinary portrait artist living in Milan, Italy. My art is an intersection of beauty and melancholy capturing faces of ordinary people speaking through the curves of a smile and the creases of eyes. I seek to evoke the same emotion in my art that I love in those other expressions - the moment of tension between past, perception and future, the natural quiet and space that exists around the poetic, the deep swell of melody and the sudden, resonant silence. I work with charcoal and soft pastels that wonderfully capture human rawness and vulnerability.
