Sarah Comber is a brand, lifestyle and fine art photographer based in Calgary, specializing in food, travel and portraiture. Blending documentary photography with artful visual storytelling, Sarah creates images that communicate how she interacts with the world, and that serve as a medium for self-understanding.
After becoming a mother, photography enabled Sarah to connect with the woman she was before her son, while also embracing the beautiful, raw and clarifying journey of motherhood. Whether portraits, landscapes, food or still life, Sarah loves to tell stories that inspire, elicit emotion, and bring people together.
Sarah's fine art work showcases beautiful places through a soft gaze — vibrant but gentle colours, evocative contrast and playful light feature heavily in her landscape and still life images. Each photo relays a place, but communicates a feeling — whether the feeling of exploring a new landscape, or of the comfort found in wandering familiar paths with new eyes.
