Shauna Lee Beck Madsen

Shauna Madsen is a Canadian visual artist and author based in Edmonton, Alberta. Working primarily in painting, she creates expressive pet portraits, wildlife, landscapes, and narrative works that explore connection, memory, identity, and the emotional bond between people, animals, and the natural world.Her commissioned pet portraits are created in close collaboration with clients to capture not only physical likeness, but also the personality, spirit, and significance of each animal. Her work is held in private collections throughout Canada and internationally.Madsen’s broader practice includes murals, sculpture, illustration, and collaborative projects with Métis organizations, community groups, charities, and private clients. Before becoming a full-time artist, she built an award-winning career in graphic design, communications, gallery ownership, arts education, and creative entrepreneurship.
