Sloppy Folks
Mikey is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, BC. While tattooing is her primary medium, she thrives on exploring a wide range of artistic expressions. Her work draws inspiration from the effervescent critters of nature, beetles, butterflies, and beautiful winged things. Blending organic forms with bold, structured design. Heavily influenced by the psychedelic poster art of the ’60s, Mikey channels the spirit of Wes Wilson, Victor Moscoso, and Bonnie MacLean, incorporating symmetrical elements, high-contrast floral motifs, and expressive typography into her work. Her designs balance intricate detail with an unmistakable sense of movement, often evoking a dreamlike, hypnotic quality. Beyond aesthetics, Mikey’s work often highlights themes of mental health and community, using art as a tool for connection, self-reflection, and dialogue. She believes in fostering spaces where creativity can be a means of healing and empowerment.
