Tasha Gavel
I'm a nature-loving artist with an eclectic style, often leaning into abstract realism and bold colors, and sometimes into more detailed work and muted tones. I use a variety of media on my pieces - pastels, oil paints, acrylics, colored pencils and inks.I showed an interest in creating art at a very young age, and grew up in a supportive environment where I was encouraged to explore my creative abilities. Throughout my school years, I continued to develop my skills with guidance from art teachers - though I frequently pushed back on project instructions, preferring to do it my own way, much to the frustration of my teachers.In my adult life, raw creativity has been a struggle, but I find inspiration in the technical intricacies that make up the world around me, and I count it as an honour to translate some of that beauty into pieces that convey a sense of peace or wonder.
