The Observed Body by MBK
MBK is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the quiet space between stillness and presence. Working in graphite, charcoal, gouache and watercolour, the focus is on figures and forms, intimacy without spectacle - bodies at rest - captured with tenderness and restraint.
Drawing is used as an act of observation - not just of the subject, but the weight, silence, and atmosphere surrounding them. Whether rendered in soft pencil or fluid paint, each image becomes a trace of attention: a moment held, a body witnessed, a feeling almost spoken.
The Observed Body is an ongoing project that studies gesture, vulnerability and memory through art. Based in Canada, MBK is currently exploring the emotional presence of the figure in rest.
