Tyler Scott
My work portrays my experiences through my own personal lens. People, places and things I see in my reality, my imagination, and in my dreams. Aren't they all the same? Equal parts of this human experience.
I translate how I'm feeling into my paintings. The variable swings of my emotions from moment to moment mean that no two paintings are ever the same. My muses are music, visual art, nature, and different physical and mental states. Sometimes an experience will strike an emotional chord in me and I'm not even sure why. I don't need to know why, the power of the emotion will manifest in the vitality of the artwork.
I paint mostly with oils. Sparked by an idea, feeling or inspiration and a bit of planning upfront, I try to step aside and let the painting evolve how it wants to. Applying various levels of force, volume, and looseness dictated by the unique energy of the moment. I paint en plein air, from photos, and from pure imagination.
