Tyler Scott
My paintings explore liminal subjects — moments of transition where place, memory, and emotion overlap. In these spaces, I experience simultaneous loneliness and wonder, dwarfed by vast environments with fragile light that are as haunting as they are beautiful. To me, light symbolizes discovery. It's powerful, transient and often fragile, just like the polarities of nature - light and dark, happy and sad, good and evil, life and death.I use oil paints, a muted palette, softened forms and intuitive layering to create atmospheres that are charged with quiet tension. The work invites open interpretation. Rather than describing a specific narrative, I’m interested in how viewers bring their own experiences, memories, and emotions into the image.
